Randy Pausch “Last Lecture” on Oprah

I watched this during a Civitan social. It wasn’t so much inspiring for me but it did reinforce good values and what’s really important in life.

My first post dealing with self improvement. I started reading his book but never finished. The seminar is pretty good though.

Snowboarding - Brian Head, UT 2-29-2008

My second time ever out snowboarding. It was fun but very painful.

Here are some photos that I’ve taken on my iPhone. The quality isn’t so great but not bad for a camera phone.

UNLV Tour?

It’s your 3 day in Vegas and you’ve run out of things to do.  How about a tour of the UNLV campus?  I hate to say it but there isn’t much to see on campus.  I work in the best building on campus, the library, and my tour of the library lasts all of 5 minutes.  There is the new wellness center if you want burn off some of those calories from the buffets.  It’s $10 bucks for guests and there is swimming, racquetball, basketball, and a running track.

Fashion Show Mall

For those that like to do a little shopping, there is the Fashion Show Mall.  It’s the building on the north end of the strip that looks like it’s got a space saucer on top of it.  I think that they call it the Fashion Show Mall because they have a runway that pops up out of the ground.  And yes they do have fashion shows on the runway.

Parasol Lounge - Wynn

One of my favorite places to lounge around when I have guests over.  The outdoors lounge has a waterfall and at night they have a sound and light show every 30 minutes.  There is a one drink minimum.

Cirque Du Soleil

I think that everyone likes the Cirque shows and there are several to choose from in Las Vegas.  A couple of pointers about getting tickets to shows.  They recommend that you book tickets in advance before your trip to Vegas.  Many of the shows do sell out so be prepared.  You can also to get standby tickets at the ticket box.  You usually need to show up 45 minutes before the start of the show and stand in line.  A good thing about standby tickets are that they are usually unclaimed VIP tickets, which means good seats.
